In the Mirror: Wedding Hair inspiration

Picking your wedding day hairstyle is one the most important things about your day, it should reflect who you are and show off your favorite features. If you love your back or you're wearing a dress with cap sleeves, wear your hair up. If you've grown your hair out and you want to look like a greek goddess, wear your hair down. Theres no right or wrong, just be you!

However, take into consideration the weather on that day...

Will you be outside?
Are you getting married in a humid or dry climate?
Is it summertime and will be hot?
Are you getting married on a beach where it may be windy?

These are a few more things to consider...

Is there a long period of time between the ceremony and reception?
Does you hair hold curl?
Are you wearing a veil?
Will you be wearing the veil for the reception as well?

Note: Some veils, if heavy (or not made well), can smash/deflate a hairstyle that would otherwise stay put and can frizz/rough up your curls-so don't skimp on a cheap veil.

Picking the right stylist is also very important, try to find someone that will come to you, either a freelance stylist or a stylist that rents their own booth so that they have the freedom to travel to you. Having your makeup and hairstylist at your home, church or hotel makes the prep time more manageable and photographers prefer it as well.

I wanted to share with you some of the wedding styles that I've done. Hopefully these will help you or spark an idea for you.

If you live in or around the Chicago area, you can book your wedding with me :) Leave a comment below and I can contact you directly. I have also been known to travel back to my home town, if you're really special :)
